Daniel Birnbaum

Daniel BirnbaumÈ nato a Stoccolma nel 1963, attualmente vive e lavora a Francoforte. Since 2000 Daniel Birnbaum is Rektor of the Städelschule Art Academy and Director of the Portikus, both in Frankfurt am Main. For three years, 1997-2000, he was Director of IASPIS, an artist-in-residence program in Stockholm. He has published numerous books and essays on art and philosophy and is a frequent contributor to Parkett, frieze, and Artforum. Since 2003 he is a member of the board of the Institut für Sozialforschung in Frankfurt. He was a co-curator of the 2003 Venice Biennale and is currently working on shows in Moscow, Oslo, and Mexico City.
